"I can't say enough about the
great benefits of Ricki's Prenatal Yoga classes. I started
attending them when I was 4 months pregnant and kept
going till the day before my delivery. Ricki creates
a time and space to look within yourself, to connect
with the pregnancy and with your baby. Linking yoga
postures with the breath helps you reconnect with your
inner wisdom of the process of birth, brings awareness
to the mind, body and spirit, and also the spirit of
your baby. On a physical level, it helps you strengthen
the uterus and pelvic muscles, improve circulation,
lower stress levels, and helps to increase energy levels.
I had a pretty stressful natural delivery, and having
taken these classes, I was able to focus on my inner
strength and emotionally and physically cope with the
birth process."
- Alex, mother of Ignacio

SPECIALIZED PRIVATE YOGA
Private YOGA FOR FERTILITY
 |
"It is said that the most powerful
effect of a regular yoga practice on a person's fertility
is its calming, restorative effects on the mind and
body"
|
 |
In your personalized Yoga for Fertility sessions, Ricki will
teach you postures, breath-work, and meditations specifically
designed to support and enhance fertility while easing the stresses
and strains brought on by the process of trying to conceive.
Physically, the postures will address different areas of
the body to create an optimal environment for conception.
Some exercises will open and relax the pelvis and hips, some
will rebalance your hormones or glandular system, while others
will increase the amount of blood flow to your organs, thereby
stimulating and strengthening them.
Mentally and emotionally, meditation and breath-work will
bring you to calmness and an inner sense of peace. You will
feel more balanced and at ease, and will learn tools and techniques
you can take with you for coping with the emotional ups and
downs you may be experiencing. You will learn to create a
sanctuary for yourself within despite the turbulence outside.
Spiritually, through guided visualization and mantra, you
will be able to heal wounds or blockages in the spiritual
body and restore healthy energetics for attracting and bringing
in a new soul.
And because Ricki is also a psychotherapist, you will be
able to talk about and share issues or feelings you may be
having during this process, if you wish, and get the support
you need.
In your private Yoga for Fertility session, you will find
a very comfortable and affirming environment to help you reconnect
with your body, mind and spirit during this important, and
often trying, time in your life. You may just find the courage,
strength, and restoration you've been looking for.

What is Kundalini Yoga?
Kundalini Yoga is a called "the yoga of awareness". Kundalini Yoga teaches us techniques to gain and maintain a healthy body, a calm mind, and a stable emotional system. Using postures (asana), breath (pranayam), meditation, sound (mantra), rhythmic motion, and specific hand positions (mudra) which stimulate the nervous system, Kundalini Yoga takes us through a process of transformation. These are ancient and profound techniques that affect and transform us on all levels. Cleaning and clearing away old habits and self-limiting beliefs, Kundalini Yoga brings us to a place of expanded capacity and perspective. It is said that Kundalini Yoga is the fastest route to enlightenment.
What differentiates Kundalini Yoga from other yogas lies in its technology; its codified use of mantra, mudra, and breath, with asana , and its use of energy, motion, and flow. Kundalini Yoga is a science of vibration, a science of energetic transformation. More than any other form of yoga, Kundalini Yoga goes deeply into the nervous system and it works!
Kundalini Yoga was brought to the West from India in the 1960s by Yogi Bhajan. Ricki has had the honor of studying over the past 8 years in India, LA and NY, with his protege Ghurmukh Kaur Khalsa and with master teachers Gurucharan Singh Khalsa, Guru Dev Singh Khalsa, and most recently under the guidance of Hari Kaur Khalsa at Golden Bridge, NYC. Ricki has found that the Kundalini technology is enormously helpful, especially for private and prenatal students.
WHAT IS ANUSARA YOGA?

Anusara Yoga is a uniquely integrated approach to Hatha Yoga, blending the science of biomechanical alignment, with the art of inner listening, with a celebration of the heart. Anusara means "to be in the flow" or "following the heart," something we practice both on the mat and off. It is however the "universal principles of alignment" of Anusara Yoga that allows each student to find his or her optimal alignment, so that each posture is learned correctly, allowing maximal opening and strength building, safely. For when the bones and muscles of the body are in alignment, each posture becomes a radiant expression of life itself. In this highly therapeutic, transformative style of Hatha Yoga, the body and mind are honored as we celebrate the spirit of life. Through breath, flow, and mindful engagement, Anusara Yoga brings us gently into the present moment, allowing us to rest in ourselves with a sense of calm, strength and balance.
Ricki has had the honor to study under John Friend, founder of Anusara Yoga, and master Anusara teacher Todd Norian, from whom she received her yoga teacher training certification and who she has assisted in workshops and trainings throughout the country, as well as Amy Ippolliti, Elena Brower, and Jonathan Gordon, and has been an Affiliated Anusara Yoga teacher.
